ABOUT THE "L'AMICALE" REPORT
L'Amicale Semailles
[In-Sowing Fellowship] is a spirit of inclusion that drives a voluntary team of independent researchers experimenting with life. Without
doctoral claim, it attempts to closely study various data and hypotheses about the paradox of "the human condition". The "judeo-christian" perspective
from before tradition is the subject of this first report clear of any partisan or revisionist motive.
In "TABOO VERSES:
the Path of the Sound Spirit, the Power of Simplicity" , l'Amicale [the Fellowship]
argues, on one hand, that the main subject of "the Bible" is "the human condition", not the history of human, of a people or of a man, even less civic and moral teaching; on the other hand, that the biblical texts -whenever genuine, concordant and properly identified- define human evolution through what could be construed as "common sense spirituality".
According to this viewpoint, the common "human experience" ("problems", necessities, contradictory emotions, ambivalences, inner conflicts, deception, dissatisfaction, decline, dead ends, non sense, etc) would be a creation (a "distorting mirror") of ignorance fed by the vice of forgetfulness ("original unconsciousness").
The simple and "good news", "the Bible" announces to those who become aware ("those who are able to hear"), is that the "key" ("the door") to meaningful change, if possible, would rest fully in the breath ("the spirit"/ "the word"/ "the messiah"/ "the kingdom", *1) within all ("the heart"), here, today, now ("the neighbor" /the nearby, *3).
Discovering this intimate "secret" would be man's primary "mission" ("seek first the kingdom..."). Developing or accomplishing this potential ("being a witness /a manifestation", "entering the kingdom") would be a mortifying, difficult and superhuman "suicide mission" ("it is through many hardships...", "easier for a camel", "for men it is impossible", "no one may see me and live").
Therefore, "the Bible" says, alarmist beliefs, "prophets", "shepherds", "visions", "works" ( apostolic zeal, observances, "formulas", "offerings", "charity", cult of symbol, cult of personality, etc.) would be in themselves nothing but shadows of solution or traps;
"truth"
("God", *0) would be the essential, the eternal, the one and only
present time in "perpetual covenant" with the visible and the invisible;
"faith" ("fidelity", "trust", *4) would be to surrender unconditionally ("obeying") to the "law" of "truth" ("recognizing" /"fearing" /"serving" /"doing the will of God", *5) by appreciating the opportunity of the moment ("giving thanks in all circumstances", "being content"), by taking time ("being patient") and by "doing good";
"good"
("justice", *6)
would be to live in balance ("loving one's neighbor as oneself", "loving with all one's heart
and all one's mind", "in words and in deeds", "in spirit and in truth", etc.) by being in harmony with the process and with oneself ("walking with God");
"evil" ("sin", "iniquity", "temptation", *8) would be to lose balance ("losing one's senses", "being senseless / lost /confused/dispersed /far /in the dark", *9) and to fall into illusion (being "in the seductive power of "the devil" /"the
wicked" / "the flesh" /"the world), agitation, doubt (being "half-hearted /divided /drifting /adulterous /prostitute /idolatrous"), therefore to deviate from "the truth"
(being a "liar", a "rebel /an outlaw", "faithless and lawless", "perverted") and to "perish" out of pure ignorance ("being dead /numb /hardened", *10);
"wisdom" (*7) would be to "have intuitive /revealed knowledge" ("receiving the word", "seeing the light", "being a seer"), thus regaining one's senses and self-control ("repenting"/ "converting", "being reborn", "coming back", *12) ;
"maturity" ("intelligence") would
be to "confess" one's "sin", to discern "good" from "evil" and to
play safe and easy at their shifting game while understanding that the stake
is personal;
"prayer" would be to "watch" or empty oneself without ceasing ("fasting", being "poor", "retiring", being silent)
so as to hold one's spirit clean, one's conscience pure /clear ("being a child of the light", *14) and to have breath (inspiration, energy) to combat "temptation" ("the good fight");
"love" ("the link to perfection", "the extreme way") would be to "die" to illusions (being
"baptised", being a "disciple", "self-sacrificing", "leaving the world", *16) by breaking decisively with vanity, that is with identification to the ego (lust, interests, etc.), to the past (grudges, vengeance, judgement, ties, etc.), to tomorrow (greed, worries, etc.), to appearances (hypocrisy, prejudices, etc.);
"perfection" (being "one") would be to rise above duality (the last illusion) and the survival instinct, that is "to be the life", "to come to know ("to be") truth" and "to be free" ("liberated from sin and from death", "conquering the world").
Would this account imply that "the Bible" - associated overall with blind fanaticism (exclusion, intolerance) and Puritanism (self-righteousness, authoritarianism, conservatism, conformism)- actually prizes the "virtue" of the golden mean, the "work" of awareness (full consciousness) and the "ideal" of celebration (joy, enjoyment, "participation", "harvesting", renewal, emancipation, etc.) in the fullness of the moment?
Would it justify the fact that those writings refer to man as if he were under hypnosis ("God caused a deep sleep to fall upon man"), under the influence ("From the Lord's hand you have drained to its dregs the bowl of drunkenness"), in the grip of insanity or a victim of multiple personality ("legion") -cases defined by conditioning ("The Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart"), suggestibility ("those who guide you are misleading you"), helplessness /lack of self-control
("I do not do the good I want"), absence of lucidity ("they have eyes but
they cannot see...") and "dreamer's faith"?
Would it confirm the
sayings "error is human", "woe to that man relying on another man" and the lyric "dreams are my reality"?
Which would raise suspicions about popular concepts such as identity, "human rights", morals, merit, free-will, and which would turn man into a robot or a puppet?
If we are to believe "the Bible", can man ever overcome his condition, realise his hopes or exhaust his possibilities without "grace" (the gift of "wisdom") or "salvation" ("... who will
rescue me from this dead body?"), that is without a second wind /new energy /a "revival" ("awake, sleeper, rise from the dead", "thus says the Lord, I take from your hand the cup of drunkenness", " ... and their eyes opened!")?
