L'A.D.V. (l'Amicale des Disciples de la Vie or l'Amicale, translated "the Fellowship of Disciples of Life" or "the Fellowship") does not preach ideals. It embraces a spirit of eclecticism and inclusiveness. For the last ten years, this spirit has been driving a nucleus of men and women studious at the School of Life. As neutral observers, digging into every source and asking fundamental questions without claiming to hold the answers, these free researchers open new horizons in the field of Human Development.

This endeavour should enrich the human experience and raise the levels of consciousness, regardless of credos and orientations. Under certain conditions, it could awaken dimensions likely to impact attitudes towards time, towards "reality" and vis-a-vis oneself; which would yield the following alternatives, among others:

killing time until time kills us, or taking time to live in the eternal present;

"functioning" like a machine, or participating consciously in the act;

being a plaything, at the mercy of events and emotions, or being a willing actor in the complex game of life;

seeing things as they are and facing the facts, or denying the obvious and deceiving oneself;

complaining and feeling sorry for oneself, or adapting and counting one's blessings;

making assumptions and value judgements, or testing everything without disparaging nothing;

showing nuance and prudence, or practicing intolerance and self-righteousness.

The holistic nature of this project will compel the Fellowship to unveil scores of taboos about mankind and about certain teachings related to this species. All these revelations will raise controversies without sowing confusion; at the same time, they will upset many conventions and traditions without affecting values and principles. In this regards, the readers' verdict is a must.

The main departure from the norms remains in the fact that nothing will be like before when it comes to dear concepts such as "progress", "merit", "free will", "salvation", "immortality", "truth", "faith", etc., while nothing will have changed actually. After all, what is so new under the sun ...?
